Application Instructions
DynaCrete® PIM+ or PIM+ Type S Application Instructions
⚠️ Important Surface Protection
Before application, protect all glass and painted metal surfaces in the application area. The product can etch glass and damage painted surfaces if allowed to dry on them. Cover these surfaces thoroughly before spraying.
Step 1: Surface Preparation
- Ensure the concrete has cured for at least 21 days before applying PIM+ or PIM+ Type S
- Hose off the surface to remove any alkali or dirt:
- For vertical surfaces, hose from the top down
- For horizontal surfaces, ensure the water and alkali are completely drained or removed using a squeegee
Step 2: Dampen the Surface
After hosing off the surface, make sure it is in a Surface Saturated Dry (SSD) state, meaning the surface is damp but not soaked with standing water.
Step 3: Applying PIM+ or PIM+ Type S
- Use a Hudson-type sprayer for even application:
- For vertical surfaces, spray from the bottom up
- For horizontal surfaces, start spraying from the low point up to the high point
- Apply until the surface stays wet and shiny for 15-20 seconds
Step 4: Post-Application Rinse
Hose off the surface after the application, before the product dries. This will remove any excess material and avoid leaving behind a silicate layer that can be difficult to clean if it dries.
Step 5: Coverage
Coverage varies depending on the surface type:
Expect 100-250 sq. ft. per gallon, with 150 sq. ft. per gallon being the average for most surfaces.
Step 6: Curing Time
Allow treated joints or areas to cure for a minimum of 72 hours before applying any rubber gaskets or secondary coatings.
🌱 Environmental Safety
The product is safe for the environment, animals, and plants. However, wear rubber gloves to avoid skin irritation from the dried liquid glass particles.
Clean Up
Clean tools and hands with soap and water immediately after application.
